Open Up New Dimensions in the Great Outdoors: Go RV Camping
Saturday, September 22nd, 2007    Subscribe To Our FeedWhy do people typically decide to go camping? Is it because they love the great outdoors, the trails, the streams, the meadows, and the mountains – or is it because they have a serious and unwavering love for sleeping on sharp sticks and cold rocks? Is it both or is it simply the former or latter?
I don’t know about you, but I’m not particularly fond of sleeping on rocks and sticks. This is why I think going RV camping is absolutely essential. Not only does it allow you to experience the majesty of the unsettled wilderness, but it allows you to do so from the comfort of a vehicle that condenses many modern luxuries into a small space.
Previously, camping entailed setting up a tent, cooking over an open fire, and getting attached by bugs of all kinds. Now, camping doesn’t have to be that way (unless you enjoy that sort of thing, of course). Now, you can drive your RV to the campsite, hook it into the utility grid offered by the camp, and use your electric-powered devices to perform all tasks you would otherwise have to do with caveman-level technology.
In fact, when you go RV camping all you need is a map to your favorite campground and the time off to enjoy living in the great outdoors. While some may consider a tent or sleeping under the stars roughing it, others see time RV camping with many of the comforts of home equally relaxing. With a satellite mounted on the unit and wireless connections available for their computer and cell phones, roughing it can take on a new meaning.
Although the sizes of some of the units make them unwieldy in some city settings, a two bat can be attached to the back to tow a car behind. Once set up in an RV camping area, the car can be used for trips into the nearest town or for other sightseeing excursions. You can travel the country and park for a day or so in one place while visiting other areas more available to cars.
Recent Movies Popularizing RV Camping
An introduction to RV camping has been made in recent movies that show families cooped up in a recreational vehicle and the trials and tribulations they face on the road. Although most are meant to be comedies, the movies often present a near accurate portrayal of RV camping and almost always end with everyone getting along.
With many of the vehicles designed for RV camping, they are completely self-contained camping and living units on wheels. Most resembling mobile homes with kitchens and separate bedrooms and allow people to lounge in the unit while traveling. For extended trips, this can save time and money when on the road as drivers can switch places and one can sleep comfortably in a bed while the other drives.
One of the attractions to RV camping is the ability to be on the road and see the country without the need to spend time in motels, while still having many of the conveniences of home. Selecting a route for travel can be by location of RV camping parks where you can set up for a day or so and then continue on your journey across country.
