Not all camping stoves are equal. In fact, some are much better than others, even if they carry the same exact price tag. Now, you may be going out into the wilderness for a weekend to pretend you are unfamiliar with civilization, but don’t start before you purchase your oven. Use every tool at your disposal to find the right camping stove for your particular set of needs. If you purchase the wrong stove and it turns out to be a disaster, you might have to end having to end your vacation early—or to live off of granola bars for a week.

The Family Camping Stoves

If you decide to bring everyone—the whole family and maybe even some friends—on the camping trip, then make sure you purchase something that can cook for everyone: namely, you may want to purchase a full family cooking stove. Not only are these family stoves safe, but they are very easy to use and highly accesible. They will allow you to cook some great-tasting barbecue. However, there is one significant down-side: compared to most camping stoves, these machines are considerably heavier, which means you will probably need help lugging it around once you arrive at the site.

Backpacking Camping Stoves

When are thinking of going on a trek, make sure that you buy one of those small and compact camping stoves that can easy fit into your backpack. Always remember that when you want to go trekking, weight is always an issue. After several minutes of walking in rugged terrains and going uphill, a few pounds of weight on your back will start to feel like torture. If you are one of those people who are not used to carrying some heavy loads on your back, chances are, you will start feeling the pull on your muscles after just a few minutes of walking. Carrying heavy camping stoves is therefore out of the question when you want to go trekking or even biking. There is no point of straining your back and risking injuries.

The Mountain Stoves

More than anything else, you should not be carrying some heavy loads when you want to go mountain climbing. Always remember that you need all your strength to negotiate the steep inclines of the mountain and it will not do you any good at all if you carry on some extra weights such as those big camping stoves. Sure, you do need a stove when you are already up in the mountain and needs to cook your food or get warm but a small and lightweight stove can take care of that.
